Due to continued growth our client is looking to expand its sales department and recruit a sales person with a difference. This ‘is’ a sales role but there is much more to the position and as such is not your ‘traditional’ sales position by any means.
The position is a hybrid between; Sales, Account Management, Sales Order Processing, Marketing, Data Cleansing and supporting the Sales Director in various activities to generate leads into the business and ultimately increase orders.
Our client is a worldwide leader in their field and has an enviable reputation for service and delivery. They have a wide distributor network and your role is to ensure that the relationship between the distributors and manufacturer remains strong and business is followed up and supported wherever possible as well as building the distributor network. If you have a second language that would be ideal (preferably French) but this is by no means essential.
The product is an electrical/mechanical product so if you have a technical sales and marketing background then this would be advantageous but more importantly is your ability to build relations, be proactive and do the admin as well as the sales in this type of role.
This is a new position so there is a genuine need for a versatile and flexible approach as processes won’t be as robust due to the role being ‘defined as you go’. With this in mind it can be both incredibly exciting to be able to make the role your own but equally frustrating as you will need to learn and create processes as you go! It isn’t a role for the feint hearted but it really is a great opportunity!
The role requires a creative approach as well as a competence in; inbound/outbound calls to customers, database cleansing, reporting on various marketing campaign successes, working closely with the sales team to ensure continued growth, chasing up quotations sent to the distributors to see if you can do anything else to help them get the sale, processing sales orders, generating lead opportunities and various other tasks to ultimately help build sales.
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in commercially driven and competitive environment within sales/account management
- Knowledge of data processing , CRM, e-commerce
- Ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of export sales and a second language would be advantageous
- Good analytical skills
- New business and marketing lead approach to sales
- Experience of executing email and telemarketing campaigns
- Previous experience of working within a sales or sales account mangement environment
- Ability to research, gather information and analyse both data and results
- Technical sales experience a distinct advantage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible approach to workload and expectations
